FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
The eagle is an yearly publication of Kairi Secondary School. It is a reflection and a mirror of what Kairi community school stand for. It is a celebration of the year long achievements and struggles. This publication has a special place in our hearts. It is a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and dedication we have put throughout the year.
Vibrant educational and co-curricular activities have been put together to make the Kairi child balanced. This is a testimony to our school holistic development approach. Every parent requires a successful child unfortunately success is a product of the family, society and the school. Each of these entities must midwife the process of raising the child to what God experts of us. Each one must put a spanner in the works and accept results without blame.
Like a surgeon the parents and the teachers must carry out precision surgery that is non invasive and successful. Failure to do so means we have lost the child. It is just like the farmer who practices precision Agriculture to get a bumper harvest. Therefore, the skills, knowledge, wisdom and values imparted to the learners must be balanced at the family, school and society level. We must be the custodian of this great responsibility. A promising future for our children will depend on what we do with them now.
This is a time for goal setting and working towards achieving them with unwavering determination. As a school we are committed to nurturing young minds by inspiring them to think, learn, achieve and finally become reliable and responsible citizens. Kairi is not just a place for formal education, it is a place where boys harden, take responsibility and graduate to become men. Values such as patience, empathy, honesty, respect and caring for each other forms the fabric of the school.
For the school to remain relevant the academic flag must fly high. This is where we need the support of all stakeholders. Kairi school has continued to enjoy community support. This is noted by increased enrolment over the years. This year the government has placed 420 students against a capacity of 200 students in form one. This is an indication that we need to expand infrastructure to cater for demand.
We stand with our philosophy that “Every Child Matters and no one should be left behind”. This is the way to go with the new curriculum (CBC).
